Clean Hoods Reduce Cancer! First responders are critical to the safety and well being of every community. They play a selfless role in making sure that our families remain safe. So when they sick need our help, we must respond immediately.

Currently, 2 out of 3 Firefighters will be diagnosed with cancer*.

Hoods for Heroes provides chemical blocking hoods to members of fire service. Firefighters are exposed life threatening carcinogens on a daily basis and many do not have the proper equipment to protect themselves. We will work to outfit every firefighter in the county with a life saving hood.

Why Hoods?

Rare and aggressive forms of cancer in fire service starts with constant exposure to carcinogens that are absorbed through the skin. The thinnest skin on your body is in the neck and face area. Chemical blocking hoods can reduce exposure above the neck by 99%! The majority of hoods currently worn by fire service do not protect this area.
